The Last Supper

By Vitruvian

I bought a new easel and a five foot by four foot canvas in May 2014 from money that my mother left me when she passed away on 11/04/2014. The canvas is about five times bigger than my previous largest canvas.

I chose to work on this Piece under a pseudonym, the name is Vitruvian from Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous sketch of Vitruvian Man…

The preliminary thoughts came to me towards the end of April. How many times have I heard the political slogan ‘We’re all in it together’ trotted out time after time, year after year! How many times have I felt my stomach churning with the hypocrisy of it all? How many times have I felt the need to react? Well, now I have reacted!

I was enjoying a few quiet beers in The William the Fourth pub in Church Street in Brighton. That was when the first flash of inspiration appeared in my mind, I sketched it out. It was a pig eating from a trough… I jotted down some ministers names and drew a rosette. The trough was going to be a huge upturned, hollowed out bar of gold.

I visited my friend Brian Goldsmith at his cafe to discuss my ideas for the painting. Brian made some suggestions which I liked a lot, the painting was taking shape in my mind. This was going to be a big development in my artistic endeavours, not just because of the scale of the Piece but because of the depth and weight of the subject matter.

When the new easel and canvas were delivered, I was very excited. I assembled the easel and canvas straight away, and then started printing off some reference materials. I wasn’t daunted by such a large canvas, instead I felt very comfortable with it. It felt very natural to be able to use such large sweeping strokes with pencils and brushes, I knew I had crossed a thresh-hold.

I meditate sometimes in the early hours of the morning, this is when I seem to be able to tap into my subconscious mind to pluck out ideas for my work. I was also able to purge lots of the difficult and painful memories and emotions onto the canvas, it has been tremendously cathartic.

When I was sketching out the under-painting, I sometimes used a brush in each hand for the first time. It felt very liberating. It was very enjoyable moving around the large canvas using such free and broad strokes.

The painting works on several levels. The banner at the top that reads ‘We’re All in It Together’ will have an obvious impact to most viewers. There are several biblical references, tributes to other Artists, Freemasonry and occultist symbolism. The Artists that I have paid homage to include Leonardo Da Vinci, Vincent Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and Francis Bacon.

The painting is a riot of colour, which took a lot of time and hard work to make it all balance. It is a symphony on canvas. It has extremes ranging from it being pretty to ugly, it shouts, it whispers, it disturbs, it is beautiful. It will not be ignored for many reasons. It will be like a mirror reflecting viewer’s character flaws. The stench of corruption emanating from it is truly awful. The three swine have the blood of innocents on their trotters.

From the word Horus, who was one of the most significant deities in ancient Egypt, we get the words hour and horizon. Vitruvian is shining the spotlight on corruption at 6 O’clock pm which is shown on the Dali inspired melting clock fried egg. This is displayed as 18.00 hours on the twenty four hour clock. 18.00 = 3×6 = 666 the number of the Beast! Vitruvian and his team have been following the politicians for several days waiting for their chance. The politicians have just finished giving a television interview which was broadcast worldwide, they have taken off their suits and gone into a field for their banquet.

Revelation 17:4

And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast, full of blasphemous names, having seven heads and ten horns. The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a gold cup full of abominations and of the unclean things of her immorality, and on her forehead a name was written, a mystery:

Ezekiel 7:19

“They will throw their money in the streets, tossing it out like worthless trash. Their silver and gold won’t save them on that day of the LORD’s anger. It will neither satisfy nor feed them, for their greed can only trip them up”

Mathew 7:6

“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces”

Roast Chicken = RC + Vitruvian Man = Christ(ian) = Christian = R.C Christian = The name on the new stone monument (The Georgia Guide-Stones) in America = Rosicrucian = Freemasonry

Fried Egg = FE = Further Education above the fried egg melting clock = When I called time on teaching in Further Education because of the corruption.

Mashed Potatoes = MP = Member of Parliament. Brussels Sprouts = BS = Bullshit = Bullshit MPs in Brussels.

Baked Beans = BB = Big Brother on the television and George Orwell’s book, beans also represent money in art.

George Orwell’s book titled Animal Farm. He replaced the political leaders for pigs ‘Four legs good, two legs bad’ The dog tags hanging over the edge of the trough read ‘George Orwell 1984’ from Orwell’s book titled 1984.

The pineal gland (sometimes called the third eye) has been burnt out and caused a wound on the forehead of the pig on the left. The pineal gland is also represented by a pine cone, so is the eye of Horus which is painted on the trough.

The Prime Minister (Prime Bacon) is branded with ‘No 10’ No reversed = On = The ancient Egyptian place of the sun. 10 is the binary code 1+0, the language of all computers.

There is a famous painting by Van Gogh called ‘The Potato Eaters’ it features a family of peasants sitting around a table eating together. In the trough there are mashed potatoes and roast potatoes, this represents the peasants being used up and devoured by the pigs.

There is Vanitas in the painting, depicted by the food spilling over the edge of the trough. Vanitas in art represents the fragility of life.

The poppies symbolise the dead from the two world wars. The daisies represent the dead soldiers ‘pushing up the daisies’

The ace of spades playing card represents death. There is an ace of spades attached to the soldiers helmet, one leaning against the trough with BANK printed on it, this represents banks funding wars, it also represents the first syllable of the name of an artist that Vitruvian wants to rival. There is a soldier’s boot in the trough serving as a wine cooler, with a very expensive bottle of Ace of Spades champagne in it. This represents the disrespect shown to the masses, whom send their people off to fight the wars.

There is a card with GMO printed on it, this is Genetically Modified Organisms. We are what we eat! If our food is being genetically modified, does this mean that we are being genetically modified? GMO in reverse spells OMG ‘Oh My God’ a very common phrase these days, particularly amongst young people…

There is a silver goblet full of blood resting on top of the trough, this represents sacrifice. There is a Vitruvian Man stamp on the trough, could this also represent the sacrifice of Christ on the cross?

On the American Dollar Bill there is a pyramid sitting on a bed of weeds with an all-seeing eye underneath the capstone, this is represented by the weeds at the bottom of the painting. There is also a very small owl on dollar bills that can only be seen under a magnifying glass. The weeds represent the masses. The owl is important in the occult because it is wise and can see in the dark. There is an owl in the trough just about to be eaten by a pig, this represents that ‘At the top, they eat their own’

I have painted the pigs in a style that I hope the Artist Francis Bacon would approve of and bacon of course comes from pigs. Francis Bacon used to distort his painted figures, he called it ‘inflicting the injury’ the inflicted injuries have caused wounds on the two outside pigs.

Each of the three pigs are wearing rosettes of their political parties, there is also a green party rosette that has been tossed in the mud, this represents politicians changing their allegiance to different parties when the going gets tough and they sense an opportunity.

There is a bishop chess piece lying in the mud that has the face of Desmond Tutu. The bishop is wearing a mitre hat, which derives from the fish hat from the religious cult called Dogonism, this is represented by the rainbow trout. The rainbow trout is being tossed into the trough, this represents the ‘pot of gold at the end of a rainbow’ The chess piece belongs on a black and white chequered chess-board. All freemasonic lodges have black and white chequered floors.

The game of chess goes back to ancient Egypt, when it was called senate, this is where the American Senate/Senator comes from.

Politicians have tried to introduce ID cards to the public, this is why the No 10 pig is wearing an ID card attached to him with a hypodermic syringe, which also represents the drug culture and trade. Heroine and opium come from poppies. Francis Bacon used syringes in some of his work.

There is an apple with a serpent eating his way through it in the trough, it is from the tree of knowledge, good and evil. The serpent is important in the occult because it never closes its eyes, sheds it’s skin to be reborn and can change into various shapes.

We’re All in IT Together

Is written in red and gold, the gold represents the ruling class, the red represents the blood, tears and toil of the masses. It is written as graffiti on a brick wall, which represents ‘Just another brick in the wall’ by Pink Floyd. The lines of the brickwork are also reminiscent of the lines formed by the ceiling joists in Leonardo Da Vinci’s Piece title ‘The Last Supper’

The soldier’s helmet contains a bundle and roll of fifty pound notes, it is their piggy bank!

The shape of the beam of light being shone by Vitruvian is in the shape of a compass, the top corner of the trough forms the square, the compass and square of Freemasonry.
